LifeLines is a free, open-source genealogy program originally written by Thomas Wetmore circa 1991-1994 and now placed under an MIT-style license. Tom no longer works on lifelines, but does occasionally participate on the LINES-L mailing list. His original website was http://www.bartonstreet.com/software/lines but is no longer valid. Historians can visit the wayback machine if they desire to see it.
Because it is a console-based application (i.e. no graphical user interface) and very flexible, users have found many different ways to make best use of its features. So, this wiki is a place for users to share hints and tips about using the program.
There is also a great LifeLines FAQ page to answer many of your questions about the software.
